We as a society should use sustainable bags for our shopping and every day needs. Reason being, we simply cannot afford to destroy our environment any longer. The average life to decompose for a plastic bag is 1,000 years. That equates to this; once it hits your shopping cart, goes home with you, then gets thrown away, it takes 1,000 years to actually break down. This is only the beginning, as the bag breaks down it becomes more and more toxic in the landfills soil. When you ask yourself why sustainable bags, the answer is...OUR FUTURE DEPENDS ON IT!

The San Francisco/bay area has officially banned plastic bags. Another place that did it is the entire country of China. There are many cities and counties in the United States that are starting to impose a tax on the bags. The standard rate, in a lot of areas is .15 cents. Those are a few quick facts most don't know.

That's a great question. There are many things you can do to help. Some of these things are more costly than others. We can all switch to hybrid cars.
